CORROSION AND MATERIALS REFERENCE LIBRARY

Welcome to the Hendrix Group Inc. corrosion and materials technical reference library. Here, we post information as time allows on corrosion control, corrosion prevention, materials selection and classic corrosion photographs resulting from our consulting projects and research. We have also posted public domain reference material where it complements our material and where permission has been granted. Examples of technical material available for browsing include:

• Corrosion Data - Visit our extensive archive of classic corrosion photographs for striking color photographs of macroscopic and microscopic corrosion and cracking mechanisms with descriptive captions. Our corrosion glossary contains definitions of most corrosion technology terms.
  

• Material Properties - Visit our metal and alloy material property pages where we have posted extensive corrosion and material property data on such alloys as stainless steels, copper alloys, and ferrous metallurgy and heat treatment data.
  

• Failure Analysis - From our more interesting failure analysis projects we have compiled short, case histories describing the components that failed, corrosive environments, laboratory test observations and analysis findings. The case histories link to color photographs illustrating the failure and microscopic observations. We are adding new case histories all of the time.
  

• Newsletters - Our newsletter area contains short, topical articles of interest on various topics, including: revised pressure vessel code safety factors, inspecting aboveground (AST) storage tanks to API Standard 653, brittle fracture, hydrogen embrittlement of fasteners and bolts, plus more!
  

• Discussion Forums - Visit our corrosion and material property discussion forums, where our visitors can post technical inquiries. The Hendrix Group's corrosion engineers strive to respond to appropriate technical inquiries within 48 hours!
  

• Special Corrosion Topics - Special corrosion topics is where we post in-depth corrosion and material property information. Include are articles on crevice corrosion of nickel and stainless steel alloys in seawater, corrosion of nickel alloys in caustic environments, refining corrosion and special corrosion and cracking concerns associated with refinery and chemical plant pressure vessels.
  

• Members Only Area - The Members Only Area contains technical articles and papers we have published and presented. We ask that visitors register to obtain a private username and password for member privileges.
  

• Industry Standards - For the convenience of our visitors, we have provided focused industry standards concerning materials and corrosion testing from such technical organization as the American Petroleum Institute (API), American Standards for Testing and Metals (ASTM) and The American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) for on-line purchase from our website.
